Easy Wildlife Photography by Steven Fairbrother – a review of illustrated talk 28 September 2026

Steven showed a delightful display of his wildlife at our recent public meeting. There were grebes, red kites, puffins, swans, yawning seals, aggressive-looking seals, stags, robins, blue tits and Vincent, a one-eared badger, to name but a few.

While most of the photos and videos were taken with an DSLR camera, he also uses a compact camera and mobile phone. He shared the locations and inventive techniques he uses to get the very best photos, as evidenced by the plaudits and awards he has achieved.

Steven titled his talk ‘Easy’. I’m not sure I can agree! The time and effort he spends in hides, visiting remote islands around the UK and, more locally, Bradgate Park and Attenborough Nature Reserve – plus, inspirationally, his own back garden – shows real dedication and lots of patience.

It was an inspirational talk.

Thank you, Steven.
